USA is the new F1 destination this week, but you can expect the usual old winning outcome for Britain’s man in form…
Once again Lewis will be the driver to beat this weekend, as he hopes to make it his fifth Formula One win in a row. His current winning streak stretches way back to the Italian Grand Prix and since then he has been dominating week in week out for Mercedes.
And his form shows no signs of slowing down as he heads into a Grand Prix where he has had great success over the years. Lewis won the event two years ago and claimed a fifth-placed finish last year despite an underachieving car. It is clearly a circuit he enjoys racing and with his confidence already sky high, this could be another comfortable week for this year’s championship favourite.
He currently sits 17 points clear of title rival Nico Rosberg, with only three races remaining. However, with 100 points still up for grabs, there can be no room for complacency and a win for Lewis again this week he will be taking a giant step towards lifting that drivers’ title in Abu Dhabi.
With so much riding on every race from now until the end of the season, pressure will play a big part in who comes out on top at Mercedes. Having already won the Constructors’ Championship, the team can now focus their full attention on their individual drivers.
You have to fancy Hamilton in an intense pressure situation between the two. He has already come out and said that his German colleague does not handle pressure well and since that statement the mind games seem to be working.
Lewis is a man in complete cruise control at the moment and has enough confidence to fuel all the drivers’ racing in America this weekend. In his usual assured manner and bullish swagger, this should be another victory for the Brit and a big leap towards securing the Drivers’ Championship.
