TRFC Week 6 Recap: Mjcarney1 Rides Two Jets To Win
October 22, 2015 – by Seth Trachtman
Week 6 was relatively low scoring on FanDuel, as reflected in our top three finishers this week.
In the TeamRankings Football Challenge, our weekly FanDuel tournament for TeamRankings users, mjcarney1 edged out the challengers with a final score of 173.32. He did so with a big contribution from two Jets players.

ToggleOur Week 6 contest had a $10 entry fee, with a guaranteed $6,000 prize pool distributed to the top 300 scorers, who each doubled their money.
Last week, the tournament had 592 entries out of a maximum 660. Those who played therefore enjoyed higher win odds and much better expected payouts than typical FanDuel contests.
(And with thousands of people entering FanDuel contests with much lower expected returns, this is a great time to remind you why our weekly tournament is such a great value.)
And as usual, the top three finishers in Week 6 each won a free entry into our $25,000 Week 11 Final, where they are all guaranteed to win a minimum of $500, up to the grand prize of $3,000.
Make sure to enter our Week 7 tourney as early as you can — there are only four weekly tourneys and 12 finals seats left!
Week 6 Winners
Mjcarney1 claimed first place, followed by shelbjstew in second, and lmdirtybirds in third place. lmdirtybirds had three entries finish in the top 10, netting one finals ticket and at least $530 in profit.
Here are the winning lineups for Week 6:
1st Place – mjcarney1
2nd Place – shelbjstew
3rd Place – lmdirtybirds
Analysis of the Winners
Even with a dud performance out of the Arizona Cardinals defense, mjcarney1 managed to pull out the victory. He got great games out of the rest of his lineup, with Ryan Fitzpatrick being a clear difference maker. He only had three unique players among the three winning lineups (Fitzpatrick, Steven Hauschka, Cardinals defense).Shelbjstew also got a nice value at quarterback in Blake Bortles. He shared the exact same wide receiver trio as mjcarney1, making a Jaguars stack with Bortles and Allen Robinson. Still, he had four unique players among the winning lineups (Bortles, Tyler Eifert, Stephen Gostkowski, Minnesota Vikings defense).Imdirtybirds got a mediocre performance out of his most expensive player, Le’Veon Bell. To make up for it, he found consistency in the rest of his lineup and got bargains at wide receiver in John Brown and Donte Moncrief. He had the most unique lineup of the three winners, with six unique players (Carson Palmer, Bell, Brown, Moncrief, Robbie Gould, New York Jets defense). The only player in all three lineups was DeAndre Hopkins. The Texans wideout was the highest scoring player of the weekend games, and has surpassed Julio Jones as the leading wideout in FanDuel scoring.
