Sundays can be a bit tricky when it comes to lineups. And with the league’s trade deadline looming, deals are quick to materialize. Because of that, some sportsbooks have been a bit hesitant to put out certain lines too early.

However, I have found three MLB player prop bets I like for Sunday’s games.

Sunday’s Best MLB Player Prop Bets

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook and DraftKings Sportsbook)

Tobias Myers Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-164 at FanDuel Sportsbook)

I usually do not like to lay this much juice on an MLB player prop. However, I do think this is a very good spot for Tobias Myers to record at least a handful of strikeouts on Sunday afternoon against the Miami Marlins.

First, let’s start with Myers himself. He has gone over this number in four straight starts and five of his last six. Myers has been a much more consistent performer in the strikeout department now that he is a trusted member of the Milwaukee rotation.

Myers only went over this number in two of his first six starts this year, landing on exactly four strikeouts on three other occasions. However, Myers averaged just 72.5 pitches in those six starts.

Since then, Myers has thrown at least 80 pitches in six out of eight starts. He has recorded five or more strikeouts in all six of those ball games. Overall this season, Myers has cleared this number in seven consecutive starts in which he has thrown at least 80 pitches.

The matchup should also be a favorable one for Myers on Sunday. Miami has struck out in 25.7% of their plate appearances this month when facing a right-handed pitcher. That is the fourth-highest rate in the Major Leagues.

Miami also just traded away their best hitter in Jazz Chisholm. Though Chisholm did have a relatively high strikeout rate, he will be replaced in the Marlins lineup by a much less talented player.

I think this is a solid spot for Myers to rack up at least five strikeouts. The price is steep, but you can always pair it with something else if you see fit.

Tyler Fitzgerald Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI (-125 at DraftKings Sportsbook)

As you may recall, I had a Heliot Ramos prop ready to go against Austin Gomber last week. Then Colorado went and changed starting pitchers on me. Again, this is why I stress waiting for lineups if possible, but I digress.

While I certainly would not talk anyone out of playing Ramos against Austin Gomber on Sunday, I am going to pivot with Tyler Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald’s props are a bit more palatable for me from a price perspective. I am playing the over 1.5 number on his hits + runs scored + runs batted in player prop. It is currently listed at -125 on DraftKings.

Fitzgerald is arguably the hottest hitter in baseball entering Sunday’s action. He has eight home runs in his last 10 games. As a result, San Francisco has bumped him up to the second spot in the lineup lately against left-handers. That should come in handy when it comes to this prop.

Fitzgerald should be hitting behind Jorge Soler and in front of both Ramos and Matt Chapman. Those three teammates have combined for a .319 batting average and .600 slugging percentage versus lefties this year. Fitzgerald is hitting .328 and slugging .621 against southpaws in his own right.

Another thing I like is that Fitzgerald is much more of a free swinger than his lefty-bashing teammates. Soler, Ramos and Chapman have a combined walk rate of just under 14% against lefties. Fitzgerald has walked just four times in 62 plate appearances against left-handers this year.

Fitzgerald has at least three hits + runs + runs batted in in nine of his last 10 games. We only need two to cash this ticket. And the matchup is certainly favorable against Gomber.

Gomber is in the bottom 10 among 70 qualified pitchers in ERA, xERA and FIP. Colorado also has the worst bullpen in baseball, so Fitzgerald should be able to take advantage regardless of who is on the mound on Sunday.

Lawrence Butler Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI (-125 at DraftKings Sportsbook)

Tyler Fitzgerald is not the only Bay Area batter doing damage of late. Lawrence Butler has been a major catalyst in the Oakland Athletics’ offensive resurgence in recent weeks.

Butler has gone over this number in 15 out of 19 games in July. And he has been even more prolific over his last 10 contests. In that stretch, Butler has surpassed this number nine times. He has also recorded multiple hits in eight of those 10 games.

I look for Butler to keep swinging a hot bat when he and the A’s face Jose Soriano and the Los Angeles Angels.

Butler tagged Soriano for a three-run home run earlier this month. That homer occurred when Butler was still batting towards the bottom of the lineup and ignited Butler’s torrid stretch.

Soriano has been solid of late, but his last two starts have come against the Seattle Mariners. Based on how badly Seattle has performed against right-handed pitchers this month, I am taking those outings with a grain of salt.

Soriano does have favorable splits versus left-handed hitters. However, he has also been much worse at home. With contradicting splits, I lean more toward trusting Butler’s recent results in this matchup.

We could also get a bit of bullpen luck if Soriano manages to keep Butler in check. The Angels traded closer Carlos Estevez to Philadelphia, which leaves a hole in the back end of their bullpen. They have also used Matt Moore in three consecutive games, which all but ensures he will be unavailable for this game. That leaves Jose Quijada as the only left-hander likely to be available for Los Angeles. I believe Butler is in for another big day at the plate on Sunday.
