A 23-year-old player from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, is heading to the Canadian franchise with a need to hit the ground running.

On Tuesday, the MLS SuperDraft 2024 was held, where the number one pick was forward Tyrese Spicer from Trinidad and Tobago. Spicer was chosen by Toronto FC to join their ranks and will need to make an immediate impact, as they were the franchise that finished last in the Eastern Conference and at the bottom of the overall league standings.

Who is Tyrese Spicer, the MLS Superdraft 1st pick?

The 23-year-old Spicer, previously a part of Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, is now set to travel to Canada to embark on his first professional venture with a team in the North American league. It’s noteworthy that Spicer boasts a record of 29 goals and 18 assists in 57 appearances for the ‘Purple and Gold’, making his arrival at BMO Field particularly intriguing.
